Stored in memories: animals have long and short term memory, distributed system have memories in brain/paper. Learning: changing memory for purpose of better future action: habituation: behaviour response lessened over time (first time hearing sound you jump, after a while you stop, hungry after skipping lunch but eventually you get used to it) Positive = present negative = remove reinforce = more likely punish = less likely: practice, do something over and over and learn to do it better. Imprinting: time sensitive learning (geese attach to mother after birth, observational, learning by observing another person do something, e. x. Copying, cultural learning: testimony, someone tells you something (how to start web browser), also from reasoning and inference. Learning over human history: genetic learning: species learn to deal w environment over time, cultural learning, through culture.
