Over 67% of 12-15 year olds say bullying is a big problem at school. Bullying occurs once every 7 minutes on school playgrounds (pepler & craig, 1997) Teachers only aware of 4 % of playground bullying. 85% of bullying occurs in a peer group context. Bullies often come from neglectful, hostile homes, with harsh punishment. Exposure to high levels of marital conflict; modelling of bullying behavior. Victims try and keep problems a secret, fearing revenge. Need a balance between clear consistent discipline and warm supportive relationships. 94% of canadian youth have a fb account. 87% have a smart phone by grade 10. Cyber aggression involves harassing, intimidating, or embarrassing someone via technology, using such tools as, text messages, social networking sites, and websites. (lamb, 2014, ma thesis)
