Genes: our body is made up of cells that contain 23 pairs of chromosomes. Chromosomes carry genes, which are made up of dna sequences. Each gene is located in specific spots on chromosomes. A gene is a section of dna that influences some characteristics (e. g. eye color, impulsivity). Each person receives one set of each pair of chromosomes from each parent. Genes play a very significant role in an individual"s life as it influences height, eye color, facial features, personality, attitudes and possibly behaviour. Human genome project: a multibillion-dollar research endeavor that is dedicated to sequencing the entire human denome. Genetic junk: functionless parts of dna that have no purpose. However, parts of this junk has an effect on human beings in that it impacts anything from a person"s physical size to personality. Behavioral genetics is the most controversial of all personality studies.
