Process: gather evidence, conduct interview (behavioural analysis interview) Goal: determine if person is being deceptive. Assumption: guilty people will react differently (because they are uncomfortable) to questions that innocent people (who are trying to be helpful because they know they didn"t do it). Not probing for information anymore, just looking for confession.
