I. e. our thoughts and acion tendencies are broadened. Build resources and skills for the future are built. Study of new university roommates over ime. Assessed them before school and ater they had met their roommate. Self-other overlap how close you are to someone else; overlapping circles to see how much there is self-other overlap. Complexity of other ( both traits") do you view the roommate as a complex person. Complex would be having both traits at once. Then 5 weeks into the term they asked all these things again. They found that people with high posiive emoions predicted having more self-other overlap and thought their roommates were more complex.
