Competition for muscular control is over taken by dominant side of brain by this inhibitory mechanism. Some patients with damage have alien hand signal. Splenium is a widening of cc, heavy myelinated axons. Myelination of cc goes posterior to anterior during development. It takes up about 1/3 of linear distance. Splenium is so myelinated because things that occur simultaneously through right and left fixation must occur simultaneously in the brain. Without cc objects in fixation point would disappear. Minor forcep is at top, major at bottom. 1/3 of way through brain to get to the cc and then go back to form u shape. Major forcep follows similar path only it is in temporal lobe. Only animals born in placenta"s have cc. which means it is argued to be recent development of evolution. Isthmus: superior and inferior gyri are associated with visual and auditory perception. Cc projects in a variety of area of brain.
