Personality disorder clusters: the 10 pds are grouped into three clusters based on descriptive similarities, odd/eccentric, dramatic/emotional, anxious/fearful, the clustering system has serious limitations and has not been consistently validated. Paranoid ideation, ideas of reference, odd beliefs, unusual experiences. These criteria relect cognitive distortion of reality. Their frantic eforts to avoid abandonment may include impulsive actions such as self- mutilating or suicidal behaviours. These criteria relect the two core factors of bpd dysregulated afect and dysregulated behaviour. Often lively and dramatic, they tend to draw attention to themselves and may initially charm new acquaintances by their enthusiasm, apparent openness, of lirtatiousness. They are overly concerned with impressing others by their appearance and expend an excessive amount of time, energy, They may ish for compliments regarding appearance and may be easily and excessively upset by a critical comment about how they look: style of speech is excessively impressionistic and lacking in detail.
