From simple to elaborate: ex: a simple thing including shaking hands is a ritual, this is an example of a social ritual, the national anthem is a ritual, etc, we are all engaged in ritualized communities. What are some of the basic elements of ritual (ex: the kinds of movements is taking place) What makes them religious rituals: showing videos and discuss. Way of connecting with one another (social ritual) A way of connecting with nature and being part of nature. Eclipse (ex: sufi movement in islam, spinning around, and a man ringing a bell in. Rituals can be done individually but there are others doing the same thing. Togetherness involves participating the same way as others are, or participating with them.
