Theology is the discipline of taking scripture and making it relevant to the present. Christians inherited the scriptures unchanged, and call it the old testament. For jewish people it"s not the old testament- it"s referred to as tanakh, jewish/hebrew. Gen 1:1- begins with creation (biblical myth) Gen 2:4- second introductory statement to creation. Gen 1: vegetation in verse 2, humans in verse 6. Gen 2: humans come first, then vegetation is produced. Academic study of religion/insider confessional or confessional. The why over the truth of a story or infra stain; what are these two differences evidence of . Hypothesis: different authors, single author who forgot (likely or not), vegetation defined differently (trees, bushes) then agriculture where humans must participate in. How can we make these two stories not contradictory . The human hand in the creation of the scripture. Written as lord god (translation of yhwh to english produces it in caps)
