Present heterosexual desire and romance as necessary and magical ultimately through the kiss. Presents women"s bodies as objects of heterosexual desire, men"s bodies as sites of humour. Presents a very ideological view of heterosexuality ex) fire works, transformations, magic etc when heterosexual interactions are displayed. The consequences are that homosexuality is viewed as the marginal, looked at as a joke or abnormally. Sexual orientation: a person"s emotional and sexual attraction to a particular sex (male or female) Queer: to define not just non-heterosexual orientations, but also willful rejection of the hegemony of sex/ gender normativity. Sexualities not just determined by sex of desired partner. Sex acts mean different things to different people. Sex as key to gender identity for some, not for others. Highly responsible , takes care of themselves, independent, does not depend on society. Homophobia exists because of broader social issues as opposed to gay self loathing. Third line of the predominant gender story.
