Anomie: we are isolated from one another in our everyday lives and we are craving genuine experience of condiions. * we crave community and in this we paricipate in fake fabricated communiies. Hard to deine because it was a mass demonstraion of young people becoming violent. Need to explain why they took the streets. Toronto and vancouver perfect descripion of anomie and alienaion. More prevalent in young people especially in young men. Not a result of poverty but rather isolaion and disconnect from society. It can be created by generaion and chasm. 18-25- unemployment rate of 14% twice the naional rate which is 7% During the recession people give up- true for about 10-20% of university graduates. Students are generally 18-27 thousand dollars in debt.
