Knowledge/education (adult literacy and school enrolment level) Geography matter even more - not less as some sociologists once presumed. Cultures are becoming more and more similar due to the standardization of cutrual forms around the world. Cultural speci city is being eroded due to increased homogenization. Less diversity - music, food, movies, language. Hybridization = combination of two different elements to make a new hybrid" version: example: american chinese food, texmex, french canadians. New forms of identity and expression become possible. Globalization equals homogenization but the particular avour is usa based. There economic and cultural power of the us supports their argument.
