Means a process that happens over time. Many ways it can happen: political, economic, technological. Several globalizing agents: united nation (un) Collapse of soviet union in late 1980"s - 1990"s. The west - social and liberal democracies with free market economies. The east - one-party based system with a socialist economy. Abolition of government intervention in economic matters. Reduced restrictions on manufacturing, no barrier to commerce, tariffs. Government intervention is sessional for prevention of boom bust cycle. Welfare state - redistribution of wealth and social safety net. Free trade, privatization, minimal government intervention, ect. Changed in experience of time and space. Time and space compression: geographical distance/time barriers broken down. Example: you can instantly talk to people across the world. Social activities no longer con ned to speci c geographies. Example economic terms: e-transfers you never have to go to the bank anymore. Example educational terms: you can email your proff to get an extension.
