Document Summary
Good health is a state of complete physical, social, mental well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. Health is a resource for everyday life, not the object of living, and is a positive concept emphasizing social and personal resources as well as the physical capabilities. Disease; refers to an abnormal condition affecting an organism. This abnormal condition could be due to infection, degeneration of tissue, injury/trauma, toxic exposure, development of cancer, this is what needs to be cured especially it its life threatening. Illness; refers to the feelings that might come with having disease. Having pain, fatigue, weakness, discomfort, distress, contusion, the reasons people seek healthcare, and usually the way people measure their success with treatment. This also includes a social element for example the way in which ill people perceive themselves or are perceived as others. But was not until the 1940s and 50s that medicine became an object of investigation for sociologist.
