Introduction to social deviance and its role in society. Deviant is not constant, it is changing, deviant behaviour in one place may not be deviant behaviour in another place. Deviant behaviour in corporations, everyday people not just politicians. It"s not you that decides what is normal behaviour, the powerful and elite make the rules of law. Belief in the mystic arts and theology, society being seduced by sorcery (witchcraft). Historically has been one way of defining people that are different. 2 important classes of people those were elected and those who were assigned to hell. Any person who has an anatomical or physical impairment (shape of skull, chins, faces). Separate criminals from non-criminals by the shapes of their head. Deviant criminals from non-=criminals, describing the shape of their head shape of their jaw etc. Simply by viewing photographs of their appearance can determine whether their deviant or not. Simply statistical, describing anything that varies from the average.
