Family abuse includes spousal abuse, child, elder, ect. Spousal abuse is due to the fact that victims bring it upon themselves (this is what people think) During domestic abuse charges police would show up and arrest the male but after the incident goes to court the people involved made up and no one is charged. Most research shows that there is evidence that spousal violence transfers from generations. Growing up in a an abusive home will make you abusive. Males can be jealous to the point that they are dangerous. 1/3 of married people show abuse, 2/3 of married people have done it at least once in the marriage. There is just as much female against male violence. A lot of abused women in relationships leave, the factor that decides this is their socio economic backgrounds. We find out about spousal abuse from self-report surveys.
