There is no such thing as a crime if there"s no punishment. Control theorist argue that it"s in the best interest of everyone. Education is a long process for controlling people. We can use penalties but it won"t deter the general public. We can use education but it still doesn"t stop people i. e. drinking and driving, how long has madd has been around. Releasing names of convicted criminal can deter people from committing them but can lead to vigilantism. All laws before going to the house of commons must be vetted by the department of justice. Control theorist believe behavior should be controlled and must be punished. Anyone who is different or unique is considered deviant (rock stars, artists . ) You have two forms of deviants the weird ones (walk into your unlocked house and live there) or violent ones that can kill people. One of the most important factors of an evaluation are impartiality.
