Social groups create deviance by making the who"s action constitutes deviance and by applying the rules to particular people and labeling them as outsiders. From this point of view deviance is not a quality of the act the person commits but rather a consequence of the application by others, of rules and sanction to an offender. Soci 2445 october 9th, 2014: the individuals begins to think of themselves as deviant and therefore this tends to lead them to continue acting out this deviant behavior, stigmatization or humiliation. Consequences on the labeler: creates more positive consequences for the community by enhancing social order.
