Assault: simple assault, aggravated assault: an atrocious attack committed with the intent to kill or the use of deadly weapons. Similar to homicide in the sense that the victim lives to tell the story. Rural areas have higher violent crime rates then urban. Who commits violent acts? cities: class: homicide is concentrated mainly in the lower class. They are more likely to have financial, marital troubles. Tend to resort to physical violence as a way to resort interpersonal conflicts: region: homicide is higher in the southern regions, next western regions and then northern and eastern regions. Culture of violence : gender: men are more likely to be the offender and women the victim. Time: raises during the late spring to summertime. Stanger"s are more likely to be victims during the weekdays compared to family members on the weekends. Place: men are more likely to commit homicide in public places and women in the living room.
