Teenagers nowadays are more likely then their peers to be sexually active. Teens now have sex younger, have more sexual partners and are more likely to have hookups and one night stands. Aged 12-14 who have a higher self-esteem are more likely to be sexually active. Sexually active boys are considered studs and are looked up on: girls. Higher self-esteem usually is more likely to abstain. Sexually active girls are looked down on and considered sluts. Girls who maintain virginity are considered teases. Therefore most girls get around these labels by becoming sexually active in a relationship. Sexual education: conservative christians want schools to only teach students to abstain from sex, while liberals support teaching students abstinence and contraceptives. Adultery is frowned upon within today"s society however 19 million. American males and 12 million females have committed adultery. Men associate an affair with sex while women associate it with love.
