Increasing risk factor but not a abusive parents determinate. They are more likely to experience family violence not most likely to have it. Alcohol and drugs are involved in most family violence. Marital rape: rape of a woman by her husband is the most prevalent form of forced sex. Physical violence or the threat of it. Forcing sex (while she is drunk, asleep or helpless: vaginal rap is less then half of marital rape, others include sex with objects, in front of children or right after giving birth. Causes of marital rape: entitlement to sex, punishment, control. Straus, gelled and steinmetz study: wives are as likely as their husbands to be offenders, flaw: researchers lumped together violent and non violent acts. Therefore a wife slapping her husband playfully on his wrist because he ate her cake is the same as a man punching his wife and knocking her teeth out.
