The world health organization (who) says that health is a basic right and we should all have access to health services and quality care. By being exposed to sexual ads or the perfect body kind of ads can actually increase mental health issues. These expectations are almost impossible and effects your self-esteem and in turn effects your health and mental health. About 70% of women at any given time in canada are dieting. Eating disorders have the highest mortality rate of all mental illnesses: 10-20% of people with eating disorders eventually die from the effects. Men are starting to get cosmetic surgery as well. Men are buying products to reach the perfect body by buying body supplements (protein powder etc) In the 19th and 20th century it was thought you have a disease if you were gay.
