Drinking and smoking was not accepted among those of upper class because the money they spent, was supposed to go back to the family, unlike the rich, who always had enough money for everything. Eventually when people lost their jobs and house and were in the middle or lower class, they became burdens on society. They therefore had to turn to christia(cid:374) (cid:272)harity"s (cid:449)hi(cid:272)h (cid:373)ade the(cid:373) a(cid:272)(cid:272)ept ideologies they (cid:449)ere(cid:374)"t a(cid:272)(cid:272)usto(cid:373) to, or they had (cid:374)o i(cid:374)terest i(cid:374). (cid:271)ut they had to i(cid:374) order to get help. Temperance movement was the push to reduce alcohol sales all over the world.
