People will be less willing to get tested for hiv in the absence of strong privacy protections for health information. it is in the interests of both the public and private sectors. The relationship between the right to privacy, the duty of confidentiality, and the rule of. People living with hiv/ aids have a right to privacy regarding their health information. Health professionals, and some other people who provide services to people living with hiv/aids, owe a duty to people living with hiv/aids to keep their health information confidential.
