Do not talk to other nurses or physicians who do not have access to the patient information about the patient. You can talk to the doctor involved in an elevator, given that you are the only person present during the discussion. Records should be either paper or electronics. You will have patient binders in all units. Everything in the chart will be in the binder. Do not take anything out of the binder. Do not copy anything out of the binder. Do not sign yourself on anything in the binder. The binder is a property of the hospital and, subsequently, the patient. Do not touch or move anything unless someone asked you to copy. Digital copies because it is a referral. Anything you send through email, referral, to sign any information will go through the hospital system. If you want to communicate with anybody, it will be through the private network.
