The world you see is an abstraction, not a representation. Seeing right now is always the past. Consciousness is not continuous, but you perceive it as such (flickers at 40 ms) Everything you think, feel, or touch is electricity interpreted by your brain. You lose 100"s of thousands of neurons per day, even more so when alcohol is involved. Sensation is simple stimulation of a sense organ (your body"s basic registration of light, sound, pressure, odour, or taste as parts of your body interact with the physical world) Perception takes place at the level of your brain, and consists of the organization, identification, and interpretation of a sensation in order to form a mental representation. Transduction what takes place when sensors in the body concert physical signals from the environment into encoded neural signals sent to the central nervous system.
