Drug action - the molecular changes produced by a drug where is it binding, what channels is it opening or closing. Drug effect physiological changes produced by a drug behavioural effect. One action can cause multiple effects and vice versa. The binding affinity (affinity) is the degree of chemical attraction between a ligand and a receptor. The efficacy (intrinsic activity) is the ability of a bound ligand to activate the receptor. Needs time to be absorbed and transported into the blood. Metabolism, excretion, storage at inactive sites (drug testing)
