Suppose a particular test of cognitive ability has been found to have great practicality in selecting members of a high school debate team. How much practicality would this same test have for the following situations: law school application. The test of cognitive ability would provide the practicality needed to assess future law students. The test focuses on general intelligence which would be beneficial in testing law school candidates. The cognitive test would be able to show a positive correlation between the marks expected in law school to the marks achieved on the initial test. Administering a test of cognitive ability would be easier to administer while limiting cross-cultural biases: art school application. The cognitive ability test would not be sufficient in an art school application. The art school application should include the types of skills that the school requires, where cognitive ability would not be the only scale the candidate should be tested on.
