Document Summary
Darwin"s theory natural selection co-discoverer: wallace. Darwinian evolution species are capable of producing offspring faster than the food supply increases (malthus) All living things show variations; no two individuals are the same (offspring are not a clone of their parents) Because there are more individuals than can possibly survive, individuals with a favorable variation in size, strength, or whatever characteristics necessary for survival, will possess an advantage over the others (malthus) These favorable variations are inherited and passed on to the next generation. Over along periods of time, these successful variations produce great differences that result in new species. Geological and paleontological record never seen the animals alive yet we have the fossils. If you look at the oldest fossil they do not resemble today animals, look at a recent fossil and it resembles more. Evidence of natural selection over a very long time.
