Innovaion: organizaions must maintain their lexibility, coninually improve their quality, and beat their compeiion to the marketplace. Employees: can be the impetus for innovaion and change, or they can be a major stumbling block. Simulaing creaivity: the challenge for managers is to simulate their employees" creaivity and tolerance for change. Downsizing: the number of openings for nonpermanent workers has increased. Beneit: employees prefer the freedom and lexibility of temporary status. Challenge: employees lack of security and stability that permanent employees have and organizaions face the challenge of moivaing employees who do not feel connected to the organizaion. A performance measure including efeciveness and eiciency. The raio of efecive work output to the input required to produce the work. Turnover: voluntary or involuntary permanent withdrawal from an organizaion: organizaional ciizenship behaviour (ocb): discreionary behaviour that is not part of an employee"s formal job requirements, but that nevertheless promotes the efecive funcioning of the organizaion.
