In 1286, the scottish king, alexander the 3rd, whose wife died a few years ago, he married a young, french princess and is expecting a young, male heir. Edward i thinks the best way to bring stability to the region is to arrange a marriage. His son, edward ii, can marry margaret and bring england and scotland together. In the treaty, the scots insist that neither england nor scotland would see its separate rights diminished or increased due to the union of their marriages.
