Responsible for movement and generaion of force (force provides movement) Skeletal (conscious human movement facilitated by striated muscle) Smooth (not striated- when smooth muscle contracts (contacts together- spasm) cause pain) Nervous (electrical impulse) acion potenial is electrical charge that passes along the axon. Iniiates and transmits acion potenials coordinaing body aciviies. One free surface exposed to a body cavity. A lumen (epithelial always exposed to tube or opening) Exocrine gland (exocrine glands have a duct/ endocrine glands secrete their hormone into the blood stream) Apical: top surface (free) external environment of internal body space. Allows for substances to move to the basement membrane- once in the cell. Small solutes can pass thru: glucose- amino acids.
