Document Summary

Muscles: at one point during development fuse and have multi nuclei, can form series of arrays called myofibres to make a contractile muscle (repetitive units called sarcomeres, within the sarcomeres you can confer contractibility for muscle function. Neurons: can have cell body in particular part of the body and then have axons that extend axon terminus (smaller extensions) Organization in a cell to give shape for function. Microvilli form on apical side of cell and stick out (epithelial) Structures in cell give it strength and durability. Cells need to be able to move around, force to push on membrane and add lipid constituents so as to not tear. Things need to be synthesized and then moved the right place. Centrosome sends secretory vesicles out to the membrane to be released to extracellular space. Cells can migrate out of blood vessel towards a wound (lymphocyte invasion), restricted to a specific area: intracted by chemicals released from damaged cells.
