And mary was technically rightful heir, elizabeth had her executed. But upon her death, james became king of england. Still separate, just crowns are held by one man. Wanted more incorporation, but unsuccessful because of opposition in parlis. Tried to reform scottish church with episco hierarchy (bishops etc) This united church and nobility 2gether in opposition.
