Need special sensors that are caliberated to detect that signal. Deterministic - it is predictable for the time span of interest e. g. a sine wave. Heart beat is a type of deterministic signal. V(t) = sin(2*pi* *t); v(t) is the signal over time (t) and " the frequency. Stochastic or random: a signal whose value has some element of chance associated with it, therefore it cannot be predicted exactly. No certainty about the signal, can measure it now but can"t predict the future of this signal. Those who have the fastest signal get the most money (?) Biological signals are super tiny so you have to amplify the signal, because organ systems are protected by several layers of tissue.
