Consider the ultimate goal and create conditions to get closer to it. These conditions are sub-goals that are defined by the operators in the problem space. A computer program that beat the world champion at the game of go. A very complex and ill-defined game of strategy. Alpha-go was not given instructions to learn the game, but shown examples. It developed it"s own strategies in under 40 days (far faster than any human could) Implications: the program may be used to solve bigger ill-defined problems.
