One great blooming, buzzing confusion : to stimulate our thinking, we draw upon other areas of psychology, like cognition, there is a lot of ambiguity and we need other inferences to draw upon from, ex. Declarative knowledge knowing that : knowledge about types of people and social situations, knowing about things, knowing that there are certain phenomena in the world. Procedural: someone criticizing another, giving emotional support, narratives, perhaps a larger schema about situations and events, tell a story about what happens, contextualize the situation, ex. = you have an uncle bob, you know he likes country music, he like to tell corny jokes, you know he drives a truck a chevy and is a fast driver. Procedural knowledge called tote unit: procedure for the monitoring of goal pursuit, to check progress and see if the goal has been achieved, comparing current situation to the one you want, tote unit: test-operate-test-exit. If yes, repeat: repetition of testing and operating.
