We shouldn"t assume that when people migrate that they stay in one society, many tend to continue to migrate around. There are some factors that can be identified that influence kids" choices. People are socialized into groups that are in unequal power. Can be based on gender, race and ethnicity. Analysis of inequality under capitalism and how to change. The way in which people provide for their material needs determines conditions the relations that people have with each other, their social institutions and even their prevalent ideas" Class membership is determined by one"s relationship to the mode of production. Owns the means of productions (physical items to manufacture something in society) Goal is to produce more money (surplus value) Wants to keep more of the value it produces. Escalation of conflict built into the capitalist system. System of conscious and unconscious ideas that shape a person"s or group"s objectives, expectations, and actions.
