How we get rid of wastes and maintain homeostasis. How we get nutrients and ions or water from our environment. Levels of ions in intracellular fluid and extracellular fluid maintenance. Dry places put demand on our ability to maintain water and ion homeostasis. Camels and little things live with little water in their environment. When these animals are in low humidity in the desert, with less water in the air, evaporative water loss increases substantially as the animals get dryer and dryer. Total water loss through things like urine is compounding that, so total water loss is quite significant. Ph of bodily fluids is influenced by c02 levels (carbonic anhydrase) Protein breakdown products like uric acid and urea. Kidneys release epo stimulating red blood cell production. Ureters send product of kidneys (urine produced) to the bladder where its stored, before released through the urethra. Why we urinate periodically because its stored in the bladder.
