Early adopters(people who are the irst to adapt/use the new technology) Laggards (skepical, don"t like to adapt to new technology) Efects of technology are results of the technology itself, not the human decisions about technology. Modern condiion relects tech values; raionality, eiciency, priority on control and calculability. Non-tech values are threatened (we are slaves to that machine) 1 technological progress comes at a price (pg. 2 tech progress causes more problems than it solves; problems are conceived of and solved as tech problems. 3 negaive efects of tech inseparable from the posiive. Humans do have choices on how technology is developed. Social forces and poliical decision-making contribute to technology. Tech is socially coningent, ; issues of power, control, freedom at issue.
