Earth gets energy from the sun (our nearest sun) In the suns core because of the intense heat (15 million degrees celsius) protons (hydrogen nuclei) collide at high speeds, fusing together to form helium nuclei. This process ge(cid:374)erates large a(cid:373)ou(cid:374)t of e(cid:374)ergy which the(cid:374) goes towards earth"s outer surface the photosphere which has much cooler temperatures than the core (~5700 c) Radiant energy (or radiation) energy transferred from sun to earth. Travel in waves which release energy when absorbed by object. The waves have magnetic and electrical properties hence the name electromagnetic waves. Wavelength of the way identifies form of energy. Am radio waves, television waves, microwaves, infrared waves, visible light, uv waves, x rays. Only fraction of sun"s constant radiation reaches earth.
