In pre civilization times, men didn"t understand they were fathers, if women didn"t have children, the population would die out. They believed women to be magical and mystical. Rituals eg. vows till death do us part . Men would hunt and share food in the hunting/gathering time. Domestication/ownership became tools to establish complicated social order.
