Scenario 1: researchers conduct a cross-sectional study to determine the body image among female adolescents attending an afterschool program. The researchers are interested in whether there is a difference in body image due to age, i. e. early versus late adolescence. The participants (n = 10) are asked to fill out a questionnaire which measures positive body image on a scale from 0 to 30, with higher scores indicating a more positive body image. The participant"s responses to the questionnaire are listed below. There is no difference between women"s age and body image score. Body image score was the dependent variable (dv) Mwu was the appropriate non parametric statiscitical test. The researchers perform the statistical test and obtain the following results: Scenario 2: researchers conduct a study to determine if anxiety differs between mothers and fathers whose child had undergone surgery in the last 48 hours. Ten married couples agree to participate in the study.
