Lecture 7; unsafe work; violence , risk and harassment in the workplace. Thinking gender and sexuality into workplace health and safety. Significant info on these health studies lack looking at intersecting viewpoints like age, sexuality, race, etc. This is an issue because depending on these intersections your occupational health can be different. Thus it makes women and poc people"s experiences invisible. Different jobs -- women tended to have lower-paying job. Positions; women were usually not in managerial positions. Lgbt workers; trans people needing washrooms, sexual harassment, etc. Gender sensitive approach considers expectations that men and women have, resulting in them being exposed to different physical and psychological thing sin the workplace. We need to improve our understanding of how the sexual division of labour, biological differences contribute to gender-specific patterns of occupational risk. Concentration of women in specific jobs result in a pattern of injuries.
