Created by the basilar portion of the occipital bone of the head, the sphenoid bone (the 2 bones create the slope) Inferior boundary: soft palate to level of uvula (projection on the posterior aspect of the soft palate) Lateral boundary: opening of the auditory tube that connects middle ear to nasopharynx; posterior to nasal conchae.
