Radiographic appearance: large calvarium, posterior scalloping, arrows pointing to this, rather than straight it is curved (lordosis, femoral head deformitiy, caused by decrease endochondral bone formation, results from diminished proliferation of cartilage in the growth plate. Image: multiple wormain bones, slow ossification of bones: rad appearance, repeated fractures, decreased bone density, treatment: excerise to max mobility and bone strength (walking and swimming, bracing casting splinting for fractures, surgery-rodding, strength and correct/prevent deformities. Process: begins as a bone abscess, pus produced by acute inflammation spreads down medullary canal and outwards to surface. It raises the periosteum from the bone and may spread along the surface: subperiosteal spread: increase periosteum and stimulates deposition of new bone parallel to shaft. Involcrum: a bony sleeve, produced by the reaction of the periosteum: new bone formation will surround the area, bone will be parallel to the shaft, lytic and blastic areas- big contrast od the densities.
