Humans rely more on vision than any other sense: exploring assumptions made by the brin and the development of two separate visual pathways. Neuroplasticity, ability to adapt and learn new functions: visual processing > sensation, converting energy to nerve impulses. Light captured by photoreceptors, turned into nerve impulses, not all of this reaches our conscious awareness: there are changes that alter how we integrate visual info. 1) sensation, stimuli to nerve impulse: image that strikes retina is upside down and reversed from left o right, so brain has to correct for this.
