Whole-genome scan: can compare thousands of notations in the human genome. Look for areas that appear to look different for those with and without adhd. Then determine what those genes are, and if their function can be related to. Two whole genome scan studies: first number indicates chromosome number. Short arms are p- arms (petite) and q-arms are the long arms from the centromere. Dat1 gene: dopamine transporter gene on chromosome 5. Drd4: dopamine d4 receptor gene on chromosome 11.
