He was a colleague of freud but their theories are different in many ways. Born in small village in switzerland into a highly religious family. Mother believed she had psychic powers, had mental issues (schizophrenia), and she was strict, so he was somewhat afraid. He was originally interested in archeology but had a dream that he should go into medicine, so he did. So basically you say a word and then tell person to say the first word that comes to their head. Jung did not believe in the sexual instinct of behaviour like freud did. Eventually he ended up having schizophrenia episodes-he drew and wrote about it. After freud and darwin, it can be said he is the second most influential theorist. Roughly corresponds to freud"s id: he believed that every single human being shared the same collective unconscious-this is human nature, he saw libido as a general type of energy-it was not just sexual or aggressive like.
