Harder to find literature on animus because most books have been written by males. Archetype: most primitive and basic instincts, dark animal side, difficult to control, things that i should not be. Complex: figures of danger and evil but the instincts are not evil. Projected as dangerous because we fear our primitive self, things that we reject because they are not me i wasn"t myself . Archetype: instinct to seek unity, wholeness, integration, to be together into something. Complex: if the self-complex develops, it consumes all the other complexes. The self is projected things of symmetry, etc.
